From the N&O‘s breaking story on the Wake County School Board’s resolution beginning the process of implementing neighborhood schools comes this nugget:

The decision came nearly nine hours into a tumultuous day on which chair Ron Margiotta and four fellow Republican members elected last fall stuck to their guns on their anti-busing-for-diversity stand.

Republican? School board elections are non-partisan. So it would be fair to say the four candidates were Republican-backed.

OK, so no big deal … provided they refer to the minority in an equal way. Uh, nope. The story only refers to them as “opposition” members.

We know where the N&O‘s editorial page stands on forced diversity busing ? and we’re getting treated to the same in Section 1A. Nice.
