Municipal staff members in the Town of Boone have determined live music venues may output five more decibels between 10:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m. They had only been allowed 70 dB before. In addition, old cranks trying to sleep next-door will be limited in their ability to get the police department to investigate. While the language is suspect, the Watauga Democrat relates:
The amendments under consideration would also stipulate that after five successive noise complaints from the same party within a calendar year in which no violation was cited, that police not investigate a complaint from the same party within 12 months.
