Jackson County’s Sheriff Jimmy Ashe has been busted by the ACLU for cooperating with ICE. Ashe got into trouble with the ACLU after ICE agents were seen hanging out at a traffic stop that should only have been used to hassle motorists who weren’t wearing their seatbelts. Instead of delaying those weirdoes who think they shouldn’t be strapped down by government in a free country,

ICE identified 15 foreign-born individuals who did not possess proper immigration documents to be in the country legally. The criminal convictions of the arrested persons ranged from multiple traffic violations and DWI offenses to domestic violence, ICE said. Authorities identified two people who had been previously deported from the U.S. and re-entered illegally.

An investigation by the ACLU determined Ashe was guilty of, among other things, “inadequate documentation of checkpoints.”
