SAS is trying to stop a Cary couple from selling their property to pay for long-term care. It’s not that SAS wants the couple to rely on Medicaid, it’s just that the couple is trying to sell their property to the Soleil Group who would put an office building, residential units, and (horrors) a hotel. SAS offered an alternative plan with two office buildings and, of course, a school, but no hotel and no residential units. The former best company to work for (now ranked 48)and largest privately-held company in the state happens to have a luxury hotel on its campus owned by Ann Goodnight, wife of SAS owner Jim Goodnight. I’m sure it’s all just coincidence.
