The Saluda Commissioners were taken to task for calling an illegal meeting. Reminiscent of Martin Luther, somebody tacked a notice to the police department door, and figured that would suffice. It said the meeting would be held at an irregular time at the offices of attorney Bailey Nager down yonder in Tryon. Citizens complained the announcement failed state requirements. Closed sessions can only blindside the public if they are for emergencies, like the emergency economic development meeting in Buncombe County this morning. The commissioners heeded the outcry and rescheduled a properly-announced meeting.
