Ohhhh…so it’s also an economic and homeland security plan, too!

From the always available, unidentified “Bush administration official”:

“And so I think at the end of the day (Why at the end of the day? Why not at the beginning? Or at noon? Or at the time of the announcement?) this immigration announcement was every bit as much a homeland security announcement, because of the extra measures to tighten the borders. By getting a large number of temporary workers into a program, we have a better idea of who is coming and going in the United States of America.”

Isn’t this the same argument made by gun control advocates — that if we have more gun laws we can keep better track of everybody with guns?
