Gee, whatever do you think it will be for for CMPD officer Marcus Jackson — guilty or innocent?
We’ve said all along that this thing was headed for a plea deal in order to spare the city of Charlotte, CMPD brass, and Chief Rodney Monroe additional embarrassment. All the fulminations from city council about taking Jackson to trial and City Attorney Mac McCarley obscenely wrapping himself in a cape and spandex, trumpeting that he and he alone could protect Jackson’s right to fair trial by fighting tooth and nail to keep Jackson’s personnel records secret, were just a little too over-the-top to be real.
Guess we’ll find out today what is real.
