A report written by the Corporation for Enterprise Development and the N.C. Budget Tax Center says government leaders greatly overstated the economic impact of the Dell factory:
The report, which re-evaluates the state’s estimates under a more conservative formula, says that Dell’s 20-year impact on state tax revenue will not be the $707 million that Department of Commerce officials predicted. The state will likely lose $72 million on the deal….
Right off the bat, I’d have to say this isn’t good news for the HOT crowd.
