Iowa Sen. Charles Grassley was just asked on Fox News about national disgruntlement about the caucuses, and whether regional primaries might be better for all. His answer was that only in a system like Iowa’s can an underfunded candidate like Mike Huckabee beat one with big money. And then he added that without the Iowa caucuses “Jimmy Carter would never have been president.”

Just because bat-crazy Iowa loves its Huck and looney-tunes New Hampshire loves to vote for mavericks, this means I’m going to lose any chance at all to support Fred, Mitt, or Rudy in a mere month’s time? And this is accepted as normal and sane why??
