Glad to see the Greensboro City Council exercised a little common sense and held off on adopting an energy program fueled with $5 million in federal money, especially since the program would encourage homeowners to ——you guessed it —-borrow more money. I thought that was what got us into this mess in the first place.

The council has the option of just returning the $5 million. Sounds like a good idea to me.

Update: I just watched council discussion of the issue on video. I encourage to do the same so you can adequately grasp the absolute insanity of this “program.” Just so you know —-sounds like the “consultants” and the city staffers overseeing the program will make out pretty good while the homeowners are stuck with another loan.
