Two outs were too tough to come by for Elon University’s baseball team, which fell victim to an 11-run ninth inning in one of the most stunning exits for any team in the NCAA Tournament.
….”We were just trying to get the outs,” Elon junior center fielder Chris Dove said. “There’s nothing in particular going through your mind. At first, you’re like, ‘OK, let them get their runs and let’s just worry about getting outs.’ As it keeps going, you’re just trying to get outs.”
