The Winston-Salem Journal concludes this editorial on the possible closure of a 1.1 mile section of Business Interstate 40 (at a cost of $100 million) with a real howler:
The shutdown won’t be any cakewalk, but it’s a necessity. We’ll all have some long waits in traffic. Perhaps the wisest of us can use the time to finally start coming up with a plan for light-rail service in the Triad.
Even more expensive, will clog traffic during construction and, in the end, will do little to relieve congestion.
