The N&R predictably endorses the proposed economic incentives deal for an American Express data center. The combined $13 million package would be the richest in the history of both Guilford County and the City of Greensboro.
The N&R touts American Express’ reputation as a good corporate citizen here in Greensboro, evidenced by the call center the company has operated here since 1985. I guess the question is what kind of ‘good corporate citizen’ would play Greensboro against another community, in this case Des Moines Iowa, which is also bidding for the data center.
Echoing commenter Bosco’s question —not to mention a conversation I had yesterday with Triad Watch —- anybody wonder who the broker on Roy Carroll’s property is?
