In today’s letter to the editor High Point resident Joe Copeland gives props to the Greensboro News & Record, calling it “one of the best papers in the country. Here’s why, according to Mr. Copeland:

I have consistently been impressed with the editorial stance — and fairness — exhibited by the N&R. I occasionally dislike the opinions of Charles Krauthammer, Charles Davenport and others. I can accept John Hood. While I think he’s off base, he is at least civil.

Susan Ladd’s refreshing reporting and service as a social conscience for the underserved and oppressed should be commended.
And God bless Leonard Pitts, Kathleen Parker and David Noer! How better could we have a mirror held up to our society?

In case I have to point it out, he’s dissing the conservatives and praising the liberals—that’s why he thinks the N&R is one of the best papers in the country. On a semi-related note, in a FB post former N&R editor John Robinson calls Michelle Obama “coolest first lady ever…. I’m gonna miss them.”

After eight long years, here’s a newsflash for Obama lovers everywhere —-‘cool’ ain’t cutting it.
