I was all excited to read about the changes down at the N&R. Top priority on editor Jeff “Grits” Gauger’s list:
We rearranged the office furniture. Completely. Reporters sit where copy editors once sat and vice versa, and bosses have come out of their offices. The newsroom has a new vibe.
Given the date I would think this is an April Fool’s joke, but I think he’s serious. Looks to me like it’s the same reporters doing the same beats, only now we’re going to get “quick daily reports; enterprising, ‘tell the story behind the story’ explanatory writing; and investigative projects.”
Will look forward to it.
