Incredible (as yet unposted) N&R lead editorial in today’s edition. The writers praise the Greensboro City Council for ‘yes’ to RF Micro while chastising Guilford County commissioners for saying ‘no’:

The commissioners didn’t blow this deal, however, and they have to be credited with making a shrewd beusiness deal on behalf of county taxpayers. Other times, they might be wiser to say yes — as they did last week when they provided $300,000 in marketing funds for Piedmont Triad International Airport, a grant that could land more Skybus traffic.

In the long run, the best approach economic development in the Triad will put all local governments in partnership, using common strategies to produce results that benefit the entire region. The outcome this time was positive, but yes-and-no won’t always be the answer.

And those common strategies would be more economic incentives.
