Sheldon Richman has an excellent piece on the amazingly twisted defense the regime is using to justify its refusal to comply with the War Powers Act. This is even worse than its argument that the Constitution allows the government to force people to buy approved products (insurance under Obamacare; who knows what could follow if that becomes a precedent) because Congress can “regulate interstate commerce.”
The president’s oath of office requires that he faithfully execute the laws. Flagrantly disobeying a law violates that oath. Has there ever been a clearer example of an impeachable offense?
