The Campaign Spot’s Jim Geraghty unearths some disturing news from this morning’s subscription-only Politico newsletter: The Obama administration is planning for a lame-duck session of Congress that would take up (at a minimum) the price-hiking, tax-raising, energy reduction bill that’s expected to be introduced in the Senate next month.

So even if Republicans win the House and reduce the Democrats’ majority in the Senate, the lame-duck session could jam through all sorts of unpopular, government-expanding bills that would never have passed before the election.

As Geraghty says, constituents need to get every incumbent Democrat who’s running this year on the record against passing an energy bill (and, I’d add, any other controversial legislation) during a lame-duck session.

Voters, you have the conn.
