Earlier this month Pres. Obama gave the annual prayer breakfast a highly edited snippet from Jesus’ parable in Luke — namely, 19:26b: “I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given, but as for the one who has nothing, even what they have will be taken away” Luke 12:48b, paraphrased: “from to whom much is given, much shall be required” — in order to justify his ridiculous Buffett Rule. Jesus’ inferred approval notwithstanding, it turns out that Obama actually did not propose the Buffett Rule in his tax policy.
