Peter Ferrara examines Senator Obama’s recipe for curing poverty here and isn’t impressed in the least. All Obama can come up with is more federal spending — after trillions of federal bucks since the beginning of LBJ’s War on Poverty have managed to make things worse. (Has Obama ever read Charles Murray’s book Losing Ground? I’d bet not.)

Ferrara proposes a set of policy changes that do some good, but they involve more freedom and less government control. You might think that one of the Democrats would include at least a smidgen of pro-market policy ideas. Are they terrified of the wrath of DailyKos types if they deviate in the slightest from the party line that government programs are the only possible way to help the poor? Apparently so.
