Curious passage in Jordan Green’s Yes! Weekly article (opinion piece?) on Barack Obama’s recent visit to Greensboro:

And even as he has become more outspoken on topics such as the war in Iraq and labor unions – bread and butter for the progressive wing of the party – Obama has maintained lines of communication with conservatives through his frank declarations about his religious faith.

OK, if Iraq is “bread and butter” for the “progressive” wing of the party, then what is it for the liberal wing? But even more interesting is the view that Obama’s faith has somehow reached out to conservatives. This is news to me, especially in light of the Jeremiah Wright controversy.

Any conservatives out there with confidence in Obama’s faith? Any conservatives out there pleased with Obama, period?
