Roy Cordato makes a companion point to my observation that Charlotte is no kind of model for the rest of the nation when it comes to economic recovery. Dr. Roy:
…Celgard is a success not because it is providing a sound product at a reasonable price, but because the government is using the coercive powers of the state to forcibly transfer hard earned money from citizens in exchange for the right not to go to jail for refusing to fork it over. It seems to me that this is nothing to brag about.
Forgive Roy, he is not from around here. He does not understand that Charlotte habitually brags about things no one in their right mind would brag about. Like $3b. worth of rail transit even city officials now admit will have no impact at all on congestion or air quality.
