My FEE colleague Sheldon Richman covers the many inane notions contained in Obama’s universal health care plan here and observes that he once again tries to sell his snake oil with a logical fallacy — either adopt my plan or do nothing.

We could improve on the status quo in many ways other than Obama’s authoritarian program. All of them involve reducing the role of government in health care. I wonder why it is that we never hear Obama or any of his apparatchiks discuss them. Could it be because what they’re really interested in is expanding the power of the government, not enabling Americans to get better or less costly health care?
