Under the Dome passes along a Higher Ed article on President Obama’s meeting with heads of colleges and public universities, among them UNC Chancellor Holden Thorp.

The meeting ostensibly is to reemphasize Education Secretary Arne Duncan’s call for “colleges to address rising tuition prices “with much greater urgency.” If Duncan’s idea of addressing rising tuition prices is to raise them further, then the UNC system —- especially UNCG—which just approved a mother of a tuition hike last week —– is all over it.

Somehow I don’t think that’s what President Obama has in mind. Unfortunately that’s yet another example of this administration incredible knack for being a day late and a dollar short.
