Mitch,
Since so much of the Global Warming debate seems to be based on observations and not data, here’s some observations on my farm in Lee County:

1) I’ve notices that Poison Ivy is indeed having a banner year. It’s growing everywhere this year and exerting its dominance indeed. This must be due to great weather for poison ivy.

2) Frog populations have jumped dratically in both wetland areas of the farm, hundreds of the little hoppers have emerged from tadpole stage and the noise in the evening is almost deafening. If Global Warming is causing the Ivy to grow, then frogs must love it as well. Conclusion, Global Warming helps frogs return from “tipping point”.

3) Sweet Gum and Pine trees are flourishing. Hundreds have poppped up throughout my place. I have them on dams, in fields, at the egde of ponds. It’s almost a full time job eradicating these things. If the root systems grow through the dam of a pond, it could cause the dam to fail and a flood to ensue. So, global warming might cause inland flooding.

Hey, the logic is the same as the alarmists. Nature is changing constantly, it’s a good year for some critters and plants and bad for others.
In the meantime, I’ve made close friends with RoundUp and the DR Field and Brush Mower. Wonderful innovations indeed to keep the dangerous plant growth at bay.
