Tonight, Asheville City Council will once again go into treaty-negotiating mode to appease the Sovereign Nation of Occupy. The city has not yet managed to come up with a plan amenable to Occupy. Explaineth the Mountain Xpress:

After two general assemblies and a meeting of its coordinating council, the protesters didn’t take the city’s deal, instead issuing a letter claiming the camp is “a representation of the people’s natural rights.”

Of course, the un-empowered bourgeois taxpayers do not get to negotiate, but pay fines for declining to abide by ordinances. Will council presume to have more power than Occupy and extend their corporate welfare gifting and greenway constructing powers into the rad realm of maintaining law and order?

[Asheville City Councilman Gordon] Smith tells Xpress that he now feels “the votes are there to evict,” though he doesn’t plan to support the move.
