We’ve all heard the argument before. And some of us may even be so right-brained, that we can actually see in our mind’s eye the sanguine cherry cheeks of Sen. Edward Kennedy bulging as he rants for the need to raise the minimum wage (oh, and if you’re REALLY lucky (unlucky?), you might actually be able to paste his words onto the spittle that tends to be jettisoned from his mouth during these affronts on common sense).

Walter Williams, in his opinion piece in the Charlotte Observer, gives us a reason why we should simply muse at the site of Kennedy, and pay no heed to his words. In short, Williams tells us that raising the minimum wage actually hurts low-wage workers, instead of helping them.

Hmm? Preach on Kennedy. I love the way you do that thing you do. It’s better than watching the Queen of Hearts yell at Alice.
