In absolutely no surprise whatsoever, the Winston-Salem Journal endorses Democrat Billy Kennedy over incumbent Rep. Virginia Foxx in the District 5 Congressional race.
The Journal once again falls back on controversial statements Foxx has made, such as the federal government “should not be funding education.” Well, when you look at the millions dropouts are costing taxpayers, Foxx’s statement doesn’t seem so outrageous.
Interesting, too, that in a throwaway one-liner at the bottom of the editorial, the Journal also endorses Mel Watt in the District 12 race, saying he’s a “good congressman.”
