Update on the Carolina Theatre saga. The head of the Carolina Theater Preservation Society, you know the group that said the Theatre had to be saved but spent almost 20 years not being able to raise enough money to do it, says the city-subsidized developer absolutely, positively will restore the structure. “It doesn’t matter if it takes $10 million or $100 million. Camden guaranteed the theater will be restored,” Charlie Clayton tells Creative Loafing.
There you have it, an iron clad promise that Camden Management Partners will spend at least $10 million on the restoration. Let’s see if that happens.
