Funny, Elizabeth Dole thinks Hagan’s the candidate running the mean-spirited campaign:

The senator said she is going to win this election, despite $11 million worth of “negative, ugly, nasty, mean-spirited, unfair, untrue advertising” by a committee headed by Democratic Sen. Charles Schumer of New York. “You add (hedge fund manager) George Soros and moveon.org to that and you’re up to $18 million,” Dole said. “And folks, I am still standing and we’re not going to let them buy this state.”

Yesterday’s Dole rally in Graham also had a couple of interesting guests:

Across the street from Dole, a man dressed as the Tin Man from “The Wizard of Oz” held a can emblazoned with “Liddy’s Big Oil” in red lettering. Joining him was a woman dressed as Dorothy. Both declined to give their names.

“Really, we’re here, not in protest or in support of anyone, other than to bring Elizabeth Dole back to Kansas. She was registered to vote there for 25 years,” the woman said. “I just want to let her know that we want her to come back to Kansas with us. And I can offer that with my ruby red slippers.”
