State lawmakers’ return to Raleigh this week led to radio and television appearances for John Locke Foundation experts. President John Hood joined Chad Adams on WLTT Radio Thursday to discuss the opening of the 2010 legislative session. Hood also appeared Thursday on WUNC Radio’s “The State of Things” to discuss the Tea Party movement. Joseph Coletti, Director of Health and Fiscal Policy Studies, granted an interview to UNC Public Television to discuss the general economic climate affecting this year’s legislative session. That interview is slated to air on “Legislative Week in Review.” Speaking of television air time, Michael Sanera, Director of Research and Local Government Studies, appeared on WNCN to critique a new study suggesting that commuter rail would be viable in the Triangle and Triad. Back to radio, Vice President for Communications Jon Ham chatted Wednesday with Chad Adams of WLTT about the Southport marina dispute, investigative reporting in general, Carolina Journal in particular, and the new legislative session. (Speaking of Adams, WWAY Television’s story about his new job with WLTT mentioned his past work with the John Locke Foundation.) CJ contributor Jim Stegall earned radio air time with Bill LuMaye of WPTF. They discussed Stegall’s article on the state’s surprising decision to shutter an improving Moore County charter school. The Lincoln Tribune also published that story, and N.C. Senate Republicans promoted it in one of their daily e-mail messages.
