Matt Mittan’s “Take A Stand Show” headed east from its home base at WWNC Radio in Asheville this week. Mittan spent two afternoons broadcasting from the JLF offices. President John Hood; vice presidents Chad Adams, Roy Cordato, and Becki Gray; and policy analysts Daren Bakst, Joseph Coletti, and Terry Stoops all offered Mittan updates on the issues they’re pursuing this spring. Adams also spent some time on Curtis Wright’s morning show on WLTT (“The Big Talker”) in Wilmington, discussing the transparency report, state education challenges, and other state policy and political news. Lindalyn Kakadelis of the N.C. Education Alliance discussed school testing and charter school developments with Lockwood Phillips on WTKF’s “Viewpoints Radio” program. Meck Deck blogger Jeff Taylor hit WBT Radio with Pete Kaliner to discuss the November election picture. In addition to radio, John Hood granted an interview to UNC Public Television to discuss the controversy over illegal immigrants at North Carolina community colleges. WNCN Television highlighted Joseph Coletti’s concerns about homeowners’ associations. When they weren’t on the air, JLF experts also hit the road. Becki Gray discussed the state budget in a presentation to the Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce. Carolina Journal contributing editor and CJ Radio co-host Donna Martinez discussed the legislative session and the move toward a “mommy” state with Raleigh’s Sunshine Seniors. Paul Chesser of Climate Strategies Watch traveled a bit farther away for his latest speech: a presentation to the American Dream Coalition in Houston.
