The latest TownHall.com column from Jon Sanders, John Locke Foundation Associate Director of Research, offers the argument that jobless presidencies ought to lead to jobless presidents. Sanders’ work caught the attention of WBAL Radio’s Ron Smith, who interviewed Sanders this week for the Baltimore-based station. On another topic, the Asheville Citizen-Times interviewed Sanders about the state lottery. WPTF Radio’s Bill LuMaye interviewed Carolina Journal Managing Editor Rick Henderson about an article this week spelling out the tax obligations associated with North Carolina’s government pension promises. Becki Gray, JLF Vice President for Outreach, discussed state government news during a pair of interviews this week with WTSB Radio. Gray also spoke this week at a rally outside the state Legislative Building focusing on state senators’ plans to override Gov. Beverly Perdue’s vetoes. Macon County News & Shopping noted Gray’s recent presentation at a “Freedom on the Square” event in Franklin. The Kernersville News published Gray’s recent column grading the General Assembly’s 2011 session. The Elizabeth City Daily Advance interviewed Gray for an article about the new Founding Principles Act. (Becky [sic] Gray, of the conservative think tank John Locke Foundation, said the bill’s sponsors had real concerns about how the state’s history curriculum addresses the teaching of founding principles.) Mitch Kokai, Director of Communications, discussed redistricting and other legislative issues during a presentation in Windsor to the Bertie, Hertford, and Northampton County Republican groups. Kokai also recapped the week’s legislative news during a discussion with Curtis Wright on WAAV/WFNC Radio.
