WPTF Radio listeners had multiple opportunities this week to hear wit and wisdom from John Locke Foundation President John Hood. He served as guest host for Bill LuMaye’s afternoon program four times. N.C. Senate Republicans highlighted Hood’s columns this week on the Occupy movement and recent gaffes involving Democratic Gov. Beverly Perdue and Republican N.C. House Speaker Thom Tillis. Hood’s latest contributions to National Review Online’s primary blog, “The Corner,” included observations about the Occupy Wall Street protesters and President Obama’s tone-deaf approach to retail politics. In other broadcast news, Mitch Kokai, JLF Director of Communications, analyzed recent congressional campaign fundraising figures for News 14 Carolina. Kokai discussed recent state government developments during his latest appearance with Curtis Wright on WAAV/WFNC’s morning program. Other JLF experts are spending time on the road. Michael Sanera and N.C. History Project Director Troy Kickler head to Pinehurst this weekend for a Citizen’s Constitutional Workshop. The Sanford Herald promoted the event. The Salisbury Post published Kickler’s recent column on questions frequently asked about the Founders during previous constitutional workshops. Speaking of the Post, that newspaper previewed this weekend’s appearance of Becki Gray, JLF Vice President for Outreach, at the Rowan County Tea Party Patriots’ FreedomFest. Gray also delivered a legislative update this week to the Rocky Mount Kiwanis Club, and she filled in as a guest host on WPTF Radio’s Rick and Donna Martinez program. Gray will recap the week’s top state political news for WTSB Radio listeners today.
