NCEA Director, Lindalyn Kakadelis, spoke to the
Republican Women’s Club in Alamance County about school choice and
improvement. Lindalyn also interviewed with the Greensboro News & Record,
discussing new busing decisions for “economic diversity” reasons.
The lack of choice for some families leaves them at the whim of school
boards, said Lindalyn.  Talking with Lockwood Phillips and Connie
Asero, Lindalyn highlighted recent reports highlighting the poor
performance of high school students.  Both Lindalyn and Terry Stoops
attended the most recent State Board of Education meeting; but neither
had much to report. In most exciting news, Terry was pleasantly
surprised to find many of his and JLF‘s ideas on cost-saving school construction ideas in DPI School Planning Director Steve Taynton’s “State of the State” presentation.
