Americans for Prosperity steered a “Spending Revolt” bus tour through North Carolina this week, with John Locke Foundation Associate Director of Research Jon Sanders serving as a featured speaker. The News & Observer mentioned JLF participation in the tour. The Kinston Free Press previewed the tour and quoted Sanders in its coverage of the Kinston tour stop. The New Bern Sun Journal also covered Sanders’ role in the event. Executive Vice President Kory Swanson and Vice President for Outreach Becki Gray also traveled to evening tour stops in Greensboro and Raleigh to meet with participants. Speaking of road trips, Gray recently spoke at the Jacksonville AFP chapter’s annual banquet. Michael Sanera, Director of Research and Local Government Studies, spoke about the U.S. Constitution this week in a presentation to the Eastern N.C. Tea Party group in LaGrange. The Greenville Daily Reflector promoted that speech. Director of Communications Mitch Kokai spoke Thursday night to a new Tea Party group in Yadkinville. He emphasized the problems associated with state government’s $3 billion budget gap.
