John Hood traveled to Wake Forest University this week where he joined
a panel discussing careers in politics, government and public policy.
He focused on opportunities within think tanks and policy groups, while
others gave tips on political campaigns and government jobs. While in the Triad, Hood and JLF colleague Summer Hood
met with the editorial board of the Winston-Salem Journal,
followed by John Hood’s two-hour appearance on WSJS-AM’s “Mike Fenley
Show.” Wednesday night, Hood took his usual seat at the taping of “NC
Spin,” where he was joined on the panel by Donna Martinez. Meantime,
Lindalyn Kakadelis spent two days in Milwaukee with the Friedman Foundation
and school choice advocates from seven other states. The group analyzed
the Milwaukee choice program and visited schools that have been started
since the voucher was approved. Watch for details in Kakadelis’ next
online journal. On Thursday, WRAL-TV tapped Hood for comments on the Wake County Schools embezzlement scandal,
in which several people, including a former high ranking school system
transportation official, are facing prison. That same day, he also
discussed the nomination of Harriet Miers to the Supreme Court with
WB22. And on Friday, Hood played host to six Korean journalists.
