The Macon County Planning Board decided not to expand their membership to 13. The idea first came up when Al Slagle, a shoe-in for a seat on the board, was not re-appointed. Jimmy Goodman, an anti-planner was. Two of the three commissioners who voted for Goodman have apologized to Slagle. The press writes as if this is expected. The outgoing Slagle serves as chair of the steep slope subcommittee, and he may continue chairing it after his term expires.
