The Winston-Salem Journal reports:

The guilty plea this morning of former Housing Authority of Winston-Salem director Reid Lawrence leaves one man standing in an alleged three-man conspiracy.

Lawrence entered his plea in a short hearing this morning in U.S. District Court in Winston-Salem, admitting his part in a land swap in 2003 involving the Lansing Ridge development off Lansing Drive.

Lawrence and businessman Tom Trollinger have both pleaded guilty in the case, leaving only Trollinger’s business partner, Ernie Pitt, awaiting trial.

I’ll leave the commentary to Frank Zappasnappa, who thinks “most housing authorities are nothing but cesspools of corruption.”
