I don’t want my Bush Era tax cuts extended if rumors come true that the bill will have funding for Obamacare. Hopefully this is moot by now. I’d rather just let it mellow, pay a price for liberty, and let the new Congress move things back to a more Constitutional order, without dirty socialist strings attached.
As for the strings in the popular press, one commentator remarked about the extension of unemployment benefits, “You get what you pay for.” No commentator has to my knowledge complained about the bankrupt Social Security slush fund, which has not given its payees COLA raises the last two years, getting a reduction in its contributions as the Baby Boomers are hitting the fan. It looks like another portion of an evil plot to kill off the old, wise, and conservative.
