The chaos of New Orleans grabbed the headlines when Hurricane Katrina slammed the Gulf Cost in 2005. But Mississippi actually took a stronger hit from the storm than Louisiana, and Mississippi residents pulled together and got back on their feet as quickly as possible.

Former Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour shares that story in the new book America’s Great Storm, and he offered highlights from the book during a luncheon speech for the John Locke Foundation.
