Last week I noted a blitheringly stupid letter in the Wall Street Journal by a writer who can’t tell the difference between businesses (darkly called “corporate interests”) and the government. They didn’t publish my letter, but here’s the one they did:

Companies Pose Less Threat Than the State

Regarding George Kovac’s (Letters, March 14) critique of Charles Koch’s indictment of the government, quoting Arthur Schlesinger Jr. to the effect that the alternative to government power is to cede the same to “the great corporate interests.” I’m not afraid of corporations. They don’t have men with guns enforcing the collective will of the rent seekers, parasites and zealots who animate the government.
