I promised Sam that I’d fill in and blog a bit for him while he was out of pocket for a day or two, but I’ve fallen down on the job. I’ve been getting the print version of Carolina Journal ready for press and got distracted. But I’ll try to make up for lost time.

First, an introduction is in order. I’m Jon Ham, vice president of the John Locke Foundation and publisher of Carolina Journal in print and on the Web. In addition to blogging at The Locker Room, the main JLF blog, I also write columns for Media Mangle. I just did one this morning, as a matter of fact. I’ll also be blogging regularly beginning later this week on Right Angles, the blog portion of JLF’s new Triangle regional site (it should be live by Thursday). Our other regional sites are Charlotte and its Meck Deck blog, and Wilmington with it’s Squall Lines blog. Go visit them all. You’ll enjoy them.

I’ll also take this opportunity to plug our blogger conference that will be held in Greensboro on Saturday, Oct. 7. Sam will be a panelist and our keynote speaker is Scott Johnson of Power Line blog. My daughter, a blogger and columnist up in D.C., will also be on a panel, along with Jeff Taylor of our Meck Deck blog.

Well, I guess that’s enough of the shameless plugging. Will check back in later.
