It is official: Unemployment in North Carolina is at a six-year low. At 4.3 percent it is below the national average and near enough to full-employment as can be expected.
Accordingly, any politician running for any office from any party is officially enjoined from uttering the words “economic development” in connection with his or her campaign or policies.
Should you encounter any candidate or office-holder who violates this ban, please follow these steps:
1 — Back away slowly.
2 — Take slow, regular breaths.
3 — Using your index finger, point directly at the offender.
4 — Laugh.
5 — Laugh some more. Guffaw even.
6 — Continue until offender slinks away.
