State lawmakers could decide this year whether to take steps to shore up the ailing Beach Plan for coastal property insurance. Eli Lehrer, the Competitive Enterprise Institute analyst who wrote a John Locke Foundation Policy Report on the Beach Plan last year, adds more information to the debate today in an op-ed published by the Fayetteville Observer. Speaking of opinion articles, the Mooresville Tribune recently published a piece from Dr. Roy Cordato, JLF Vice President for Research and Resident Scholar, that examines myths related to deficit spending. Cordato’s work on puncturing climate myths also attracted attention this week from a New Zealand blogger. In other news, the Shelby Star interviewed John Hood within the past week for a story about publicizing government agency malfeasance in cases of child fatalities. Hood also continued to enlighten readers of National Review Online’s “Corner” blog, with an entry tweaking President Obama for a recent reversal on health-care policy options.
