The dispute over Wilmington’s annexation of Monkey Junction continues, and WLTT Radio morning show host Curtis Wright invited John Locke Foundation Legal and Regulatory Policy Analyst Daren Bakst to the “Morning Beat” this week to discuss legal problems connected with the annexation vote. Meanwhile, Vice President for Communications Jon Ham attracted some national attention, when Poynter Online’s Romenesko blog highlighted Ham’s Media Mangle on a Carrboro newspaper’s journalistically unsound decision to take funding from the town government. Speaking of national impact, Vice President for Research Roy Cordato did double duty for the June edition of The Freeman. Cordato wrote an article about myths associated with deficit spending, and he reviewed Climate Confusion, Roy Spencer’s book on global warming alarmism. In other news, the Monroe Enquirer-Journal picked up Carolina Journal columnist Andy Taylor‘s latest Carolina Beat on session limits for the General Assembly. As reported in last week’s impact report, you can watch JLF Research Director and Local Government Analyst Michael Sanera at 6 p.m. today on News 14 Carolina. He’ll be contributing to an episode of “Political Connections” dedicated to environmental issues.
