Several hundred readers of the national Consumer Power Report e-mal learned this week about efforts from Roy Cordato and Fiscal and Health Care Policy Analyst Joseph Coletti to expose the flaws in North Carolina’s certificate-of-need laws. The National Center for Policy Analysis highlighted a recent Carolina Journal editorial that pointed to a promising pilot program in Florida that could yield ideas for improving North Carolina’s Medicaid program. The Tryon Daily Bulletin recently publicized a John Locke Foundation report that showed Polk County does not need new revenue from a proposed land-transfer tax. That article prompted a response from the county’s agriculture board chairman.
