In addition to his commentary on federal stimulus spending and ObamaCare, John Hood attracted attention this week for his insights about the ongoing Wake County public schools forced-busing controversy. The News & Observer‘s WakeEd blog promoted Hood’s most recent Daily Journal column on the topic. The Raleigh Examiner also mentioned Hood in a brief item promoting an upcoming N.C. Spin debate focusing on the Wake school dispute. On another subject, N.C. Senate Republicans highlighted two of Hood’s Daily Journal columns this week. The first compared “simplicists” and “complexicists.” The second discussed public skepticism about global warming alarmists. In other developments, Michael Sanera and N.C. History Project Director Troy Kickler will conduct a Citizen’s Constitutional Workshop Saturday at the John Locke Foundation office. Sanera and Kickler will discuss “What the Founders and the State Ratification Conventions Can Teach Us Today.” Kickler discussed North Carolina’s role in the ratification debate, along with Josiah Bailey and the Conservative Manifesto, during an appearance this morning with Chad Adams on the WLTT Radio morning show. JLF Vice President for Outreach Becki Gray has been busy with speaking engagements. She conducted an issues forum and candidate briefing this week for 12 Republican state Senate candidates. Gray speaks today in Sanford at an Americans for Prosperity “November is Coming” rally. She heads to Pinehurst Saturday for the Moore Tea Citizens family picnic and joins AFP again Sunday in Rocky Mount.
