Randolph County’s Tea Party group heard a presentation this week from Becki Gray, John Locke Foundation Vice President for Outreach. Gray also conducted a policy briefing for a pair of N.C. Senate candidates in Wilmington. The WhyCTE.org website promoted this week a video from Gray discussing the benefits of career and technical education in reducing the high school dropout rate. Communications director Mitch Kokai offered WTVD Television his assessment of the state lottery director’s decision to leave his job and return to the private sector. WTVD also interviewed Kokai about a new audit that criticizes state government’s employee performance evaluation system. Kokai discussed targeted communications tools in a speech to the U.S. Army’s 340th Psychological Operations Company in Garner. In other news, the Bull City Rising blog referenced the John Locke Foundation in an entry about a Durham school board member’s efforts to promote the state lottery.
