Statewide viewers of N.C. Spin will have a chance this weekend to watch John Hood and Becki Gray, John Locke Foundation Vice President for Outreach, share their insights about upcoming elections, North Carolina’s ballot-access restrictions, state policies on sandbags and jetties, and current drought conditions. Gray also returned to Carl Lamm’s WTSB Radio show this week to discuss this fall’s congressional races. Meck Deck blogger Jeff Taylor joined Tara Servatius on WBT to discuss Mecklenburg County’s property revaluation process and the impact on local tax burdens. Michael Sanera and Troy Kickler, Director of the N.C. History Project, will host a second Citizen’s Constitutional Workshop Oct. 2 at the John Locke Foundation office. The State Policy Network’s website promoted the workshop prominently on its home page. Kickler spoke about North Carolina’s history of tax protests during an address Monday to the Randolph County Tea Party. He addressed constitutional debates in Philadelphia and North Carolina during a presentation Tuesday to a class of high-school seniors at Fayetteville Street Christian School in Asheboro. Speaking of the History Project, the WBTV website recently cited its entry on Food Lion founder Ralph Ketner. N.C. Senate Republicans recently promoted a Right Angles blog entry from Carolina Journal Radio Co-Host Donna Martinez. It focused on the controversy surrounding mandatory University of North Carolina health insurance and abortion coverage. The Washington Daily News also cited the John Locke Foundation in an article about campaign donations in a local N.C. House race.
